Reacting to NOM's blog and some of the hate contained in it

I am glad that people here think that gay and lesbian people don't deserve rights. All of these comments make it known that you don't really 'love homosexuals' but desire to use the law not to protect marriage, but to subjugate gay and lesbian people and discriminate against them. I'll cite some of the quotes From ag Is there anything we can do in NY to reverse this such as a referendum like CA used? Or if not, can this help a GOP candidate get the Federal Marriage Amendment passed if one wins in 2012? First off, if DOMA is unconstitutional, why would a Federal Marriage Amendment be upheld as constitutional? Marriage has been left to the states via the Tenth Amendment, WhitelighterNY Richard, You are confused if you think that there is an emotional bond of "love" between 2 homosexuals. A homosexual relationship is nothing but a "counterfeit" relationship attempting to imitate the natural state that a "man" and "woman&quo

Right Now I'm Just Being Blunt

Hello Everyone, I'm not gonna cut corners right now because my fate is not in my hands, I hate my boyfriend for not being able to be here with me to at least say a soothing word to me...and every song I listen to is simply a reminder of him not being here, while I'm fighting for OUR RIGHT TO GET MARRIED and posting and emailing Greg Ball-less and trying to educate people who now know why marriage matters. Today I was at the Grandmas house to watch the vote, both tonight and yesterday night and the Session is dragging ass. You SKELOS ARE DRAGGING ASS ON MY RIGHTS, I'D LIKE TO SEE HOW CALM YOU ARE WHEN YOUR ASS IS ON THE LINE! We stopped a demonstration outside of Grisanti's cocktail party and while I'm glad we did that I hope he understands that MY FUTURE FAMILY CAN'T WAIT ANOTHER ELECTION CYCLE. I swear, I will be the most venomous person you've ever seen if I have to get through another one. I don't have the diplomacy in me anymore fo

Tumultous Tracy Morgan

Hello everyone, Today I went to Thursday in the Square and asked three men to call their Senators to call and urge them to support the Marriage Equality Act. One man tried to shove me aside and one other made a homophobic joke that lead me to ask myself: What gay clubs have YOU been to? But this made me look at the attitudes behind homophobia, that lead to the Don't Say Gay Bill, the Special Access to Discrimination bill which said that if a city ordinance goes beyond state protections it is void--which happened in the state that Tracy Morgan decided to do a homo rant in...The Not So Great State of Tennessee! The Reality   Faggot, fudgepacker, pillow biter, fairy these are some of the things I am called on youtube and other forums while defending the dignity of gay and lesbian couples. One time I wrote on a video against Act 1 which barred gay adoption in Arkansas (I wrote two notes on it under my Terry Purdue profile the link is here: http://www.facebook.com/not

Pride Weekend

Hello Everyone, This week has been great for me. I have to say that I've gotten a taste of what it is to be running all the time. Most of my time was spent with Grandma Kitty and for a week we were like Bob and Bing, Lucy and Ethel, Laurel and Hardy, Ralph Cramden and Ed North (?), Hall and Oates, Sarah Palin and Stupidity,R Kelly and Under-aged girls. So, this week we've had a meeting with Gallivan that went well and also with Grisanti that day (Friday) A wedding, rally, the Dyke March,  (Saturday) Thursday I found out the mayor skipped out on the Flag Raising and sent someone to talk in his place, went to get boxes, got a number and also found out about some anti marriage people who looked like Hitler and scared this woman's kids (who is a supporter of the right to marry) and on Sunday it culminated with Pride and doing what Pride was intended to do--be political! But I'll begin this on Wednesday Wednesday May 1st, was a crazy day because somethin

Why marriage?

After reading a book of the same title by George Chauncey (who testified in the Prop 8 trial) I began to think about the legacy of anti-gay discrimination against gay and lesbian people which included sodomy laws, firing from their government jobs whether civilian or military, losing child custody once you were found out...so many things in your world can come crashing down once they knew about you. You could be arrested after being propositioned by a plainclothes policeman and your name printed in the paper, where you worked and lived and there was nothing you could do about it. Stonewall After Stonewall, things changed though not overnight in many places. In NYC, when the LGBT community had enough, beer bottles, stilettos, rocks, and whatever could be found had been hurled at the policeman. THey had to take refuge in the same place they raided--the bar. I believe reinforcements came and they were routed, no one really remembers piece by piece what happened that nigh
