Five beautiful children who are now no longer in this world due to bullying--bullying because they are gay. In this day and age, many of us would like to think that this doesn't matter--but for many, it is a stark reality that needs to be dealt with. Family Groups are telling us that we shouldn't talk about the role of sexual orientation and bullying because it would make students gay. Come on--IT DOESN'T RUB OFF! We need to talk to these children and let them know that there is a safe place in school for them, we need to make it known to teachers that they will be held accountable for turning a blind eye to bullying--especially anti gay bullying

Listen here; I don't care how you feel about people being gay, it doesn't matter when our children are killing themselves. F*#k your feelings right now! We have to make sure that gay kids are not killing themselves over harassment and bullying that makes them feel as if because they're gay that no one wants them in their community, churches, or homes! Some people don't have these avenues.

If someone calls someone else a nigger, then there is an uproar and the NAACP will be called. But if you call someone a fag it means stupid or is an insult and it's ok because of how you feel about it?  Like in the case of Javier (or Jaheem?) Herreira who hung himself and was sick of bullying and tormenting! We need to step up and make sure that ALL kids, and especially LGBT children in school since this is the biggest reason for people to be bullied are guaranteed a safe place at school!

What we need to do is understand that we can no longer teach our children that LGBT peoples are broken, mentally ill, disturbed, etc. because that relates to these children that they are, and because of that it's okay to be made fun of simply because they are gay or questioning. It is not right for people to tell you that you are not welcome in this world, it is not right for you to tell me that you don't agree but will tell us that there is no right to be safe in the communities in which we live, work and do business.

We need to make sure that we are involved in our childrens' educations and hold the school accountable for it. If they will not be accountable for it, then you need to contact the ACLU. The ACLU will end up bringing suit and make sure that teachers and students will receive sensitivity training so that this can be confronted and addressed--not punted around like Focus on the Family would like us to do with this issue!

This is where our children end up and we will keep having this if we don't confront this issue

AND TO THE BULLIES, YOU ARE INSIGNIFICANT! YOU DON'T MATTER, YOU WILL GROW UP AND STILL BE THE SAME INSECURE PEOPLE YOU WERE WHEN YOU WERE IN GRADE SCHOOL, DO I FEEL SORRY FOR YOU? NO, I DON'T I DON'T CARE ENOUGH TO FEEL SORRY FOR YOU, I DON'T CARE TO FEEL SORRY FOR THE GUILT YOU FEEL AFTER TORMENTING YOUR CLASSMATES AND THEY FEELING AS IF SUICIDE IS THE LAST RESORT, YOU HELPED DEPRIVE SOMEONE ELSE OF THE CHILD THEY LOVED AND CARED FOR. I DON'T CARE FOR YOU AT ALL! YOU WILL END UP IN THE SAME PLACE YOU WERE AND WILL REMAIN THERE. FOR THOSE THAT SURVIVE YOU WILL END UP BEING A LONG AGO CHAPTER IN THEIR BOOK NEVER TO BE REMEMBERED AGAIN, YOU OSTRACIZED PEOPLE BUT YOU DON'T KNOW THAT YOU PREVENTED THEM FROM BEING EXACTLY LIKE YOU!
