Real Newsblast Episode 10: Independent, Question? Strikes Anchorage

Independent, Question? Tim Canova ran against Debbie Wasserman Schultz in 2016 and lost his race then. However, there has been no way to verify the results since the Broward County Election Board destroyed any way to verify the results. The County Elections Commissioner also openly backed Debbie Wasserman Schultz.  He had been on the path of challenging her as of 2018 and come to the conclusion that Annie Rice did: run as an Independent and challenge the status quo I back this decision because at least there is a way to truly run against her and not get shut out of the General since he wouldn't  in this case lose the Primary and his way to run against her. At times, you have to run outside of the party. I am hopeful that his voters from 2 years ago and canvassing the district will pull it off this time Strikes U of IL grad students union went on strike over pay, healthcare and childcare costs WV shut down their schools statewide and got a pay raise. Real Newsblast Episode 5: Tax Bill Rewrites, Child Brides, Walkout

Tax Reform Bill may have to be rewritten So, we remember when the tax scam was passed hastily? It’s infamous for the handwritten changes they made hours before it was to be passed, and it got rid of the State and Local Taxes Deduction—SALT—which disproportionately hurt higher tax/blue states. The fiscal times reports on two specific areas that will have to be fixed in the legislation The ‘Grain Glitch’: The legislation allows farmers to deduct 20 percent of their total sales to  cooperatives . “This allows farmers to deeply reduce their tax bills, but it has caused an uproar among independent...

Races I'm Watching (2013 & 14)

Some Elections I’m watching this year Cory Booker is up according to a poll by 35 points among likely voters while Democrat Terry McAuliffe has a 7 point lead last I checked. These two Democrats are running for Senator and Governor. Cory Booker is the mayor of Newark, NJ and people were thinking he’s going to run against Chris Christie. He said “I’m going to have to work with my Governor” and I thought that’s all true and that we would have to as a mayor because all levels of government have to work together to get things done. Cory Booker I thought “he’s a rising star here” and sure enough as I live and breathe here is Booker running for the seat that was vacated with the death of the previous Senator, a Democrat. After winning the Democratic nod, he now is facing off against Lonegan, who has a nod from Christie. Lonegan is not helping himself especially when he pulled a John McHenry when he said that if you get sick, you’re on your own. Personally, I feel that while there is a l...
