Real Newsblast Episode 9: The Scott Blues

Wisconsin State Senate District 10’s was called for January 15 th and Democrat Patty Schactner defeated State Rep Adam Jarchow to claim the seat for Democrats. Additionally, there were two other seats that Governor Walker is refusing to hold special elections for due to his fear of those seats possibly having a Democrat elected to it. Further, there was a bill that the Legislature is taking up to give the Governor the ability to determine when to hold special elections, even if those elections would not be held until the next election cycle. This kind of move would leave many Wisconsinites unrepresented.  Scott Walker then had to face a Court and has until March 29 th to call special elections which would likely happen in June. Walker’s team argued that the filing time is in April and that it would lead to confusion—there are only two seats—for voters regarding who is running in which election but I don’t buy it. It is not the first, but second time he has had to come t...

San Antonio Progresses, Backlash Against Red Regression

After much contention and debate we hear the fate of the San Antonio non-discrimination ordinance.   A few weeks ago Elisa Chan had come under fire for calling gays disgusting and saying they shouldn’t adopt children, she tried to take a traditional road by saying she has nothing against gays but when you’re calling us disgusting and ridiculing our families, that’s like messing with Mama Bear’s cubs. You will lose…BIG. Supporters of the ordinance wore red shirts and the opponents wore blue as they were given one more chance to give an impassioned plea to support or reject the ordinance. "When I say the pledge of allegiance, I say `justice for...

An election 4 years in the making

So the election is over and we hope we can get back to business right? Well, after some gloating we did in 2012 and the shellacking we took in 2010 along with the devastation in 2004 that was a mixed blessing I wanted to look back at this Presidential campaign and just laught it up that I ever thought about three of the scariest words in the English Language: President Mitt Romney So, let me start at 2004. I read an article that said that 2004 was a mixed blessing because people got tired of the Republeconomics and voted for a Democratic House in 2006, had Kerry won in 2004 they argued the Republicans would’ve been a stick in the mud and caused obstruction that we are so used to seeing now. That would’ve kerplunked any idea of bipartisanship and President Kerry would’ve taken the heat for it as Bill Clinton did when he ran things. The same way Obama does but now due to the volume of the obstruction and the instantaneousness of the news, we can see the truth and ch...
