Some News out of WV, CA, Scout Leader in Texas, Being Fired for Getting Married and Katie Couric gets an education from two lovely transwomen

Hello Welcome to the Spender Hamilton Blog News Slots Carmen Carerra and Laverne Cox ejumicates Katie Couric when talking about SRS and genitalia Don Lemon was once smacked down from Chaz Bono about Trans 101 while the subject of the interview was to be Trans Representation in the media. The Question: How does it feel to shave? I am sure our trans brothers and sisters look at the genitalia question as a personal one as Carmen Carrerra ably pointed out. Laverne Cox put it quite simply that those questions take away from the reality of living as trans. Ms. Cox points to the murder of a woman who was catcalled then beaten and murdered when it was revealed she was trans. I would also say that the same situation could’ve happened for CeCe McDonald but she was jailed for defending herself by an overzealous prosecutor. I am pleased to tell you that she has since been released afters serving 19 of her 42 month sentence. I want to see how I can help appeal to Governor Dayton to pardo...

Chaplain Klingenschmitt takes on Right WIng Watch...And Loses Big!

Hey Blogosphere, it’s Spencer Hamilton Being the astute political observer I am I try to keep abreast of a lot of developments like when TX LA and MS denied same sex couples benefits they deserved according to the Windsor ruling. All these states had to give out those benefits no matter if they were state or federal facilities. How they got around it was simply: Use federal workers at state facilities. Now, a lot of people don’t even like the fact that they even HAVE to give federal benefits in the state that says “no gay marriages” in our state. Remember after the ruling how everyone said: You’ll be forcing everyone to say it’s okay? Remember all the doom and gloom about…everything? Gun Control, Immigration, Minimum Wage, Jobs, passing LGBT nondiscrimination laws and saying that religious liberty would be at stake if we passed them laws? Now of course there are people like Right Wing Watch that has been cataloguing a lot of these people like Pat Robertson, Pete Labarbera, Bryan Fi...

Marriage Equality Affirmed and Democrats have a good year!!!

This year was a great year for marriage and Democrats: Let's take a look at some of the things that happened during the 2012 Elections:  ME Q1 rejected their new marriage law by a 57-43% margin, by 14 points in 2009. MD like ME and WA passed a Civil Marriage and Religious Freedom Act that was put on the ballot promptly by opponents of marriage equality. Those measures are Q6 and R74 MN in May 2011 needed a simple majority in both chambers of the Legislature (37-27 in the Senate and 70-62 in the House) to pass a constitutional amendment to the people “resolving” the question of gay marriage. Like NC they have a statute that is in place regardless. That statute is being challenged in the Benderson v. Alvarez case and could be overturned. The Catholic Church in MN said that this is why we need Amendment 1 in MN because of the challenged statute. Something of note is Sen Dibble who said I can’t see how anyone could think that my marriage would hurt someone else. Rep...
