November 2014 Elections  I remember saying that women in 2014 will help Democrats bounce back in 2014. I mean it as surely as I’m sitting here. Women’s rights has resurfaced after bills in OH, AL, TN—at least 400 bills to regulate women’s health have been introduced in state legislatures around the country. One of the women that came out against a bill in TX is Wendy Davis. I will share 3 videos about Wendy Davis in the description because she has done a lot in her time in the TX State Senate in Austin. She has helped pass a law that would ease the backlog of rape kits in TX, she had pushed a proposal through the Legislature that would help married women vote under their maiden names if they hadn’t changed their names on their IDs—prior to that a well-known TX judge was almost turned away from voting. The Republicans were so afraid of her that they tried to size her district to Republican to get rid of her. She argued successfully in court to keep the district the way it was—...

Ferguson, MO and Sanford FL are a narrative that we’re used to seeing, covering up evidence, and taking too long to state what actually happened. Two unarmed young black men killed by someone with a gun is two of many stories like the one chronicled in Fruitvale Station , and the recent chokehold death right out of Do The Right Thing —gives black men reason to be mad at a system that categorizes us as dangerous, mad, craven and deserving of a bullet. Next to that, I also see mentally ill people facing similar tragedy which tells us more about the police than their victims. When innocent people are killed by police it taints the narrative we saw as little kids: the cops are the good guys who get the bad guys. Every 10 years we take the census which gathers information about population growth or decline and is used for a variety of things from funding to voting patterns to statistical data Political Theatre Erie County Legislators Betty Jean Grant and Barbara Miller-Williams presented competing maps that were to be voted on by the legislature. Betty Jean’s map had 40% of the landmass of Erie County in one district while Barbara Miller-Williams had more even districts but they cracked up communities to help Republicans—something she denies to this day. However, it ended up in court in 2011 and Judge William Skretny ended up drawing the map which I believe County Legislators are running on today. Quality Time  This is how I express love and how I receive it. When I look at those I care about, quality time is how I gauge their interest. I desire face to face interaction and when people don’t spend time with me I really wonder if they value me or not. Whether it’s chatting on facebook or a quick phone call I count that, but face to face time is the most precious to me. Words of Affirmation Different relationships have different love languages. In my fitness and Youtube world, words of affirmation are my way that I receive love and appreciation. Everyone wants to know their efforts are appreciated no matter what Gifts A person who has this love language doesn’t care about the amount of money that you spend on their gift, just a thoughtful gift may be what they need to speak to them in their own love language.
