Carmen Carerra and Laverne Cox ejumicates Katie Couric when talking about SRS and genitalia

Don Lemon was once smacked down from Chaz Bono about Trans 101 while the subject of the interview was to be Trans Representation in the media. The Question: How does it feel to shave? I am sure our trans brothers and sisters look at the genitalia question as a personal one as Carmen Carrerra ably pointed out. Laverne Cox put it quite simply that those questions take away from the reality of living as trans. Ms. Cox points to the murder of a woman who was catcalled then beaten and murdered when it was revealed she was trans. I would also say that the same situation could’ve happened for CeCe McDonald but she was jailed for defending herself by an overzealous prosecutor. I am pleased to tell you that she has since been released afters serving 19 of her 42 month sentence. I want to see how I can help appeal to Governor Dayton to pardon or wipe her record clean as this is a gross injustice. Mark Zmuda is positively overwhelmed with support behind his termination from Eastside High, a Catholic school

Mark Zmuda is joining a chorus of people who’ve been fired for being gay…not technically, he just got married to the love of his life and he was terminated for it. I did a video about ENDA which shows a picture of how a man is glad he can’t be fired because his evangelical boss does’t like “his/her” lifestyle and can’t fire them and thanks ENDA (video here:) However, the details are particularly startling: (video clip) It’s damning that they would offer to let him divorce his husband in order to keep his job. This man has put so many years into those kids and the job and the thought that even though this is a religious school and they are permitted to do this doesn’t make it right. This is happening in the private sector a lot and it’s horrible that legally in 29 states one can be fired due to sexual orientation.

From the Herbert v. Kitchen ruling During her professional life, Kate owned a number of businesses. In 2000, she bought asheep ranch in San Juan County and moved there with D., her partner at the time. Kate worked seasonally for the National Park Service and D. found a job at the Youth Detention facility in Blanding. But when rumors surfaced that D. was a lesbian, D.’s boss told her that she needed to move away from Kate’s ranch if she wished to keep her job. While Kate was helping D. move, someone from D.’s work saw Kate’s vehicle at D.’s new trailer. That person reported the sighting to D.’s boss, and D. was fired. Several weeks later, Kate’s supervisor also told her that her services were no longer needed. Kate never found out why she was let go, but she surmises that her supervisor may have been pressured by D.’s boss, who was one of her supervisor’s mentors. Kate and D. moved back to the Wasatch Front, and Kate was eventually forced to sell the ranch. Kate testifies that she and D. split up as a result of the difficult challenges they had faced, and Kate eventually moved to Moab.

I saw a picture of a man who’s homeless and a man says “Get a job” then the same man goes to offer a resume to the guy who told him to get a job and says “I’m gay” and he is told to get lost.

Zmuda has a great amount of support behind him and it’s the students who rallied behind him that deserves a great amount of credit for their stand. It’s oftentimes not the people who want him fired but the higher-ups. The students probably would’ve congratulated him and thrown a party for him once they found out he got married the only party poopers were people who decided to fire him. I wonder what Pope Francis would say about this

Supreme Court stays marriages until Kitchen v. Herbert is resolved and Governor seeks to strip rights form Lawfully wedded couples who married during the window when marriage was legal

The stay on UT ruling is a big development but even worse Governor Herbert ordering state agencies not to recognize gay couples who got married is a stretch that will only invite more lawsuits. UT was 18 but now it’s back to 17 however, there are gay and lesbian couples who got married and it could be in legal limbo like the run up to Prop 8. However, at the Supreme Court level depending on if they decide to take the case or not everyone is holding their breath

Herbert is denying legal benefits to those who were able to take advantage of the window of marriage equality. I liken this to a guy who hates the fact that the woman in front of him ordered a sandwich he didn’t like and he’s stewing over it. We know for a fact that should this be litigated I hope they’ll be ordered to recognize these benefits

WV Judge isn’t going to dismiss the Plaintiffs’ case in its marriage equality case

In WV, a Judge isn’t going to dismiss the Plaintiffs case for marriage equality but may dismiss standing of a couple who got married out of state and the state doesn’t recognize their marriage. I’ll keep abreast on this development. I was clued into this by Joe My God

CA Caterer refuses wedding accommodations for couple

Obviously everything they do is an act of religious freedom even when it’s something they are doing in a secular sphere. A CO baker was just told that he couldn’t discriminate if he’s going to be dealing with the public and of course he’d rather go to jail than serve gays…however, that’s a brave front considering that no criminal penalties are inflicted when running afoul of anti discrimination laws. I am not sure what the case is here, but I am sure that they may rule that he did run afoul of non discrimination or other laws pertaining to it. This applies to florists, photographers, caterers, and wedding related requests

A Scout Leader says that he’ll refer gay scouts to Counseling if they come out

The Boy Scouts now has gay scouts but a ban on gay leaders nonetheless. So a Scout Leader out of  Texas has said that he will refer gay scouts to counseling if they come out. Given the fact that 2 states have banned conversion therapy for minors and other states considering it this is just another power play for a bigot who wants to make sure that gay scouts know that no matter how good they are or better than most, they will never be a scout leader due to the fact that they’re gay. Ex Gay therapy has been revealed to be based on pseudo science, a fraud, something that is harmful and is awful. I’m miffed by this mess and the thought that someone would do that to students who are under their care
