Wisconsin State Senate District 10’s was called for January 15 th and Democrat Patty Schactner defeated State Rep Adam Jarchow to claim the seat for Democrats. Additionally, there were two other seats that Governor Walker is refusing to hold special elections for due to his fear of those seats possibly having a Democrat elected to it. Further, there was a bill that the Legislature is taking up to give the Governor the ability to determine when to hold special elections, even if those elections would not be held until the next election cycle. This kind of move would leave many Wisconsinites unrepresented. Scott Walker then had to face a Court and has until March 29 th to call special elections which would likely happen in June. Walker’s team argued that the filing time is in April and that it would lead to confusion—there are only two seats—for voters regarding who is running in which election but I don’t buy it.
